About the Honey Bee
Did you know! One single worker bee will only collect one twelfth of a teaspoon of honey in her whole lifetime of just 6 weeks! I often say that if I had to pay all of my female worker bees the minimum wage for the work they do, I would need to charge over £1 million per jar!
Honeybees are the only bees which survive as a colony through the winter, and honey is their food source to sustain them through the long winter months. As responsible beekeepers we always have to ensure that our bees are well cared for during the winter.
If you or you know anyone who might be interested in becoming a beekeeper or if you would like me to give a talk to your local community group, child’s school or a club, please get in touch. I don’t sting!!
